Summary:A clinical study was made on 106 patients who had been rehospitalized at Miyagi National Sanatorium and treated with antituberculous agents over one year during the last 11 years from January, 1957 to December, 1968. The results were summarized as follows. 1) In the higher age patients, in the age group 40-49 or 50-59, the number of the male occupied the higher percentage than the female. 2) In the 44 out of 106 readmitted patients (41.5%) the tubercle bacilli were found. 3) On the chest x-ray examination of these 44 patients, the moderately and the far advanced findings were observed more than the minimal (the former 30.1%, the latter 52.6%). 4) There is tendency of that longer the bacillus-negative period in previous admission, lesser the bacillus positive rate at the time of readmission, that is particularly true on the case who had bacillus-negative period over 2 years. 5) There was significant difference in frequency of readmitted patients with tuberculous bacilli in sputum between two groups, the one with consists of cases of rehabilitation and the other which consists of cases of non-rehabilitation (the former 23.5%, the latter 50%).
