Summary:In order to develop an effective and practical isolation method against ground vibration caused by running trains, the authors tried to apply sheet pile walls beside of real railway tracks. In the field test, the effectiveness of countermeasure for reducing ground vibrations was confirmed, however, a phenomenon of the vibration amplitude was caused behind the sheet pile walls. The numerical simulation analysis which a three dimensional analytic model was used for was done to make this phenomenon clear. So, the validity of the following countermeasure methods was confirmed. From these results, the validity of the countermeasure method which it is installed into the sheet pile to the supporting layer deeply, and countermeasure method to increase of sheet pile (two sheet from one sheet) was confirmed.
