Summary:Harmonic problems for the electricity network can be classified into two types, instant effects and long-term effects. Immediate effect problems are related to interference problems for communication systems, malfunction or interference causes degradation of more sensitive equipment and devices. Its long-term effects are thermal properties and are associated with additional losses in distribution and overheating, resulting for a reduction in the average life of the equipment. This research wants to prove the change for the shape of the load current signal, who have a signal defect and there is a decrease for the power factor value because of the influence of load harmonics. The method used is experimental. For fluorescent lamp the voltage and current phase difference is 69.8 °, the bulb lamp the voltage and current phase difference is 0 °. The rated power factor is 0.34 for fluorescent lamp, 1.0 for bulb lamp and no measurable power value for LED. The fluorescent lamp are included in the non-linear load which causes harmonics to occur, resulting in a signal defect for the load current.
