Summary:Road accident which is caused vehicle collision is still big problem in Indonesia. Beside that, research of smart vehicle is still limit because not many supports to do it. Based on these two problems, the development of smart vehicle which exploits camera as collision detection to avoid accident is quite challenging. Speed identification may be a one of collision detection feature. Objective of this paper is to implement color magnification to vehicle object in video to improve speed identification result which is useful for safety feature in smart vehicle development. However, acquiring of speed data accuracy is still a challenging in researchers. Implementation of color magnification to vehicle objects that are captured by smart vehicle camera is an interesting concept that needs to be performed. Although there comes some different speed value that resulted from color magnification and non-color magnification implementation, it still be a compromise technique to achieve better result with some improvements in the next activity.
