Summary:Atmospheric coherence length indicated the intensity of turbulence has the characteristics of regional and temporal variations. Real-time measuring the change of atmospheric coherence length and grasping its rules is a primary job for researching on laser propagation in atmosphere. In view of the deficiency of the existing measurement method in portability and economy, a new measurement of atmospheric coherent length using electronic eyepiece and image processing is proposed. The error factors of experiment system are analyzed, and the feasibility of the method is proved with the aid of the data gained from temperature fluctuation instrument. Finally, the characteristics of atmospheric turbulence in Guilin are analyzed using the experiment results.
