Summary:In this paper we propose a new method to extract prosodic features of Tamil language based on region and their dialect varieties. We have designed a feature extracting tool using Praat software to track and monitor the parameters such as duration, fundamental frequency (F0), and others critical values like range, movement, and slope also included. We propose a language model to identify these parameters and then to recognize the regional dialects using our feature extraction tool.
