Summary: | This paper provides a practical application of Model Predictive Control (MPC) to a fractional order thermal system using the Oustaloup's approximation as an internal model to predict the plant future dynamic behavior. The output deviation approach is used to design the j-step ahead output predictor and the corresponding control law is obtained by solving a quadratic cost function. The performances and the efficiency of the developed strategy are illustrated with practical results on a thermal system. |
