Summary:A dual tuning stub loaded microstrip line-fed multi-slot antenna design is presented in this paper for operation in the L TE band. The slot antenna on a grounded dielectric slab is comprised of three wide slot sections: one horizontal slot, one vertical slot, and a circular slot joining both slots. These slots are excited by a microstrip feed line on the other side of the dielectric. This arrangement generates multiple modes that are combined to obtain a large bandwidth for covering most of the L TE band: from 850 MHz to 2600 MHz or beyond. Two similar slots and feed lines are placed on two corners of the ground plane for polarization diversity. The fabricated antenna shows an excellent agreement in terms of scattering parameters.
