Summary: | The effective functioning of various electrical systems depends on the electricity quality. Often, if reduction is due to the presence of powerful electrical receivers, to increase the power factor that affects the level of power quality, compensating devices are used. For electrical equipment with fast-changing loads, the most promising and effective are STATCOM systems. If there are short circuits in a power supply system, input keys of this compensating installation are blocked to avoid the failure of converter units. However, in electric steel-smelting metallurgical enterprises in arc furnaces, operational short circuits often occur, negatively affecting the quality of electricity and overall efficiency of production. In this case, control system STATCOM blocks input keys, reading a current level, voltage, frequency and most severe electrical mode passes without compensation. The article presents a method of detecting a short circuit of operational control system of a STATCOM device. The method is based on the frequency analysis of a resulting load graph and statistical analysis using Bollinger indicators. The result is a block diagram with a reflection of possible consequences of the deviation of a(n) frequency or amplitude component. |
