Total error rate in cooperative spectrum sensing with AND, OR and majority fusion rules

Summary:We consider a cognitive radio network with cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS) and multiple antennas at each secondary user (SU). Each secondary user makes a hard decision and forwards it to the fusion center (FC) over error free channel. In this paper, we derived the expressions for total bit error rate by considering conventional energy detector and improved energy detector. These expressions are derived for AND rule, OR rule and Majority rule. Finally we compare the AND, OR and Majority rule total error rates and we make the following inferences. We have shown that the effectiveness of OR rule is best when compared with the Majority rule and the AND rule in the conventional energy detector and the effectiveness of AND rule is better than the OR rule and the Majority rule in the improved energy detector.
