Summary:An elliptical UWB antenna owns two rejected bands is proposed in this paper. Two kinds of slots, a U-shaped slot etched on the background and two L-shaped slots etched on the radiating patch, are introduced. The U-shaped slot produces a notched-band at 3.5GHz, while the L-shaped slots present a notched band at 5.15-5.85GHz. Besides, a double-fed structure and a coupled-line-fed structure is also applied. The double-fed branches balance the currents on the patch, and the two rectangular patches of the coupled-line-fed structure could enhance the VSWR at notched-bands while reduce the VSWR at passed-bands. The structure of the proposed antenna is very novel.
