Summary:This paper presents the concept of using a multisensor radio-frequency (RF) system for the detection and tracking of the ball and players in ball sports. The system will be designed as a supporting system for video based tracking systems. The system will consist of two subsystems using RFID and radar technology to detect the position and velocity parameters of the players and ball in sports such as volleyball, football and basketball, among others. In the paper the concept describing the main system parameters and proposed system architecture is presented.
