Summary:Normal moving object detection method, based on single lens data acquisition, has some limits, such as small view field, slow data processing et al. Insect's compound eye has unique advantage on moving object detection. In this paper a moving object detection method with bionic compound eye is proposed, including its imaging principle, especially in ommatidium projected imaging. We also simulate the process of compound eye imaging with real remote sensing data from unmanned aerial vehicle. This research provides theoretical basis for further study on moving object detection with bionic compound eye.
