Summary: | Lead acid batteries have gained large attention these days because of their wide range of applications as storage devices in UPS, electric vehicles etc,. These type of batteries have many advantages when compared to other rechargeable batteries. These type of batteries have high rating of the power storage per unit cost. But, the challenge is their charging phenomenon which largely governs their performance. Hence, the charging phenomenon has to be optimized to enhance the battery life and charging time. There are many charging techniques available for lead acid battery. This paper mainly focuses on pulse charging technique and measurement of state of charge for lead acid battery using coulomb counting technique. |
