Summary:Nowadays various maritime distress and dispatching systems, such as maritime satellites and maritime information network, play a vital role in searching and rescue (SAR) at sea. However, their independent operation and lack of interconnection results in that the operators manipulated these systems complicatedly and are unable to get real-time images and video of the accident in SAR. To solve the problems, this paper design and implement an integrated communication system for maritime distress and dispatching. The system establishes a unified platform for kinds of communications device and systems to interconnect with each other and the operators can obtain real-time images and video from the system as well. Test results show that, the system achieves the goals and improves the efficiency in SAR.
