Summary: | Risk reduction phases are generally part of the development of new radars or of the meaningful updating of existing radars. These phases often include validation campaign to test on live data the algorithms and the architectures conceived for the new design. This paper relates on the validation campaign performed in the period 1997-2000 to equip the EMPAR (European Multifunctional Phased Array Radar) passive phased array radar with a new function capable of guaranteeing the sensor full performance in presence of strong intentional (i.e. man-made) and non-intentional (i.e. environmental) disturbance. |
