Summary: | This work describes an electro-optical system capable to transmit a wireless reference signal of 0.915 GHz using the Radio-over-Fiber technique. The reference signal is supplied by a RF multiband transceiver, sensed by an antenna, and coded on the filtered microwave band-pass windows situated at 2.31 GHz, 4.62 GHz, and 6.86 GHz. Mixing the reference signal with an analog microwave signal, the resulting electrical signal is transmitted over 25.25 km of optical fiber and radiated by means of an antenna. The electro-optical system here described exhibits a SNR of 31.93 dB, which is an acceptable value in a Radio-over-Fiber system. |
