Summary:This paper investigates the power allocation among users for the multi-user superposition transmission system, where messages from different users are superimposed and mapped onto resource elements. The goal is to maximize the system sum rate subject to a total power constraint for any given superposition structure. Due to the difficulty of obtaining the global optimal solution within the acceptable complexity, two lowcomplexity iterative algorithms based on coordinate ascending and genetic algorithm respectively, are proposed alternatively. Simulation results indicate that the proposed methods achieve the sum rate intensely close to the optimum via exhaustive search, while with a much lower computational complexity. Besides, in the proposed system, the average BER performance is superior to that with the uniform allocation.
