2.5Gbit/s MDM transmission over 180m two-mode fiber using 1550nm SFP without MIMO processing

2.5Gbit/s MDM transmission over 180m two mode fiber is experimentally demonstrated using compact SFP modules without MIMO processing. Compared to single-mode launch conditions, the OSNR requirements for dual-mode transmission is increased by 9dB.
