Summary:Data is getting generated at a very high rate through different sources like social networking sites and applications, banking and transaction applications, business and commercial websites etc. To improve the system, provide better services or to get some insights or pattern from data, analysis is required. The sensitive information is exposed to adversary when the data is given or released for analysis. Protecting the sensitive information of an individual is very crucial. If the information is leaked it can compromise the individual depending upon the sensitivity of information. In this paper, we have discussed data aggregation and different privacy models. What is differential privacy and how guarantees privacy and is achieved. Over the years how differential privacy is used with or in various scenarios to preserve data privacy. Also proposed a role based mechanism for data aggregation via differential privacy guarantee.
