Summary:Restructuring of power markets has helped in the increased penetration of distributed generation (DG) in the electricity networks not only in medium voltage (MV) but also in low voltage (LV). In such networks it is difficult to estimate voltage limits violations due to the lack of load measurements at each node and the intermittent nature of renewable energy sources (RES) that are expected to be one of the dominant type of DG sources. In this paper a method for estimating the probability of voltage violation at the nodes of an LV network is described. Based on this method the limits of power output of an energy storage device controlled by the distribution network operator (DNO) can be determined for improving voltage profile
