Summary:Natural oils are divided into vegetable and mineral oils. Compared with vegetable oils, the mineral oils show better dielectric properties, however, they are rather dangerous for the living environment and their flammability is higher. The vegetable oils are composed of natural ester molecules with a triacylglycerol structure. The mineral oils are a mixture of hydrocarbons produced from crude oil. Recently, additives in the form of dispersed nanoparticles, for example SiO 2 , TiO 2 , ZnO, Al 2 O 3 , are used for improvement of certain dielectric properties of mineral oils. Another way is how the dispersed nanoparticles will improve the dielectric properties of natural esters. This paper deals with modified rapeseed oil with dispersed adapted nanoparticles TiO 2 . The results showed that the polarization index and resistivity were both improved. Modified rapeseed oil with dispersed adapted nanoparticles TiO 2 was evaluated as perspective electrical insulating liquid.
