Summary:Universal power converter have drawn the attention of researchers in the recent past, as they can be used for dc-dc, dc-ac, ac-dc and ac-ac conversion. In this paper a novel universal power converter has been proposed with a simple switching structure which is formed by the reduction of device count as compared to individual conventional converters. Further, it will give the most economic operation with less complexity and compact in size. This converter can be configured as dc-dc, dc-ac and ac-dc conversion. The operation of the proposed converter in all configurations have been discussed. The proposed converter is simulated in MATLAB environment and experimental results are verify with simulation results.
