Summary:In order to explore the change of coenzyme F 420 under different organic loading rate in single-phase reactor of anaerobic digestion for food wastes, the content of coenzyme F 420 was determined by ultraviolet spectrophotometry and fluorescence spectrophotometry at the same time. The results showed that the content of coenzyme F 420 decreased to 0.048 mmol/gVSS when the volumetric loading rate was between 3.0∼5.0 (kgVS/(m 3 ×d). When it was between 5.0∼8.0(kgVS/(m 3 ×d), the volumetric biogas production rate increased to 5.5 m 3 /(m 3 ×d) and maintained the highest level, meanwhile the content of coenzyme F 420 was significantly increased to 0.225mmol/gVSS, there were predominant flora of methanogens that contented more coenzyme F 420 in the reactor. Because of different kinds of methanogens contain different content of coenzyme F 420 ; using it to evaluate methanogenic activity in single-phase reactor of anaerobic digestion for food waste was inaccurate by following the change of coenzyme F 420 with increasing organic loading rate.
