Summary:As a visual modeling language, UML improved the software developing progress by object-oriented thinking, which solved many problems that existed in the traditional developing methods. A model of P2P file shared system based on UML was given in the article. In the requirement analysis stage, the users' requirements were captured by use cases, and the system functions were described. In the system design stage, the main concepts in the problem domain were acquired, such as abstract, class and object, which were identified and described with class diagram. Meanwhile, for realizing their cooperation, the dynamic modeling mechanism was introduced, such as state diagram and sequence diagram.
