Summary: | This paper focuses on the design of bearingless high-speed switched reluctance motors with single layer windings based on their special characteristics, which are different from normal switched reluctance motors and other types of bearingless motors. The design begins with calculating magnetic air gap considering influences of eccentric forces. Then winding number and winding maximal inductance are chosen due to reducing influences of winding current delay on generation of radial forces. As an example, a design of 500 W bearingless motor at 30000 rpm is completed. Finite element calculations are used to verify the design steps. |
