Summary:Diffusive phenomena occurring everywhere in natural and engineering systems. Mathematical modeling and simulation of diffusive phenomena has been an important issue of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) not only in scientific and engineering fields, but also in geoscience and social and medical sciences. How to utilize client-based Web services for interactive computing, especially in P2P systems is still an attractive methodology in internet-based computing. This work presents how to develop a thermal diffusion solver use client-based, Java applet coding technology. The initial value, boundary conditions can be interactively input to investigate the temperature distribution visualized simultaneously on the interface of general Web-browser. The study provides an insight of Web-based computing for dynamic and interactive computing.
