PMSM with rotor PM mechanical flux-weakening (MFW) to zero for an 150kW, 600Vdc, 500-6000 rpm drive: Preliminary design with key validation
The present paper presents the preliminary design with key FEM validation for a high performance IPMSM capable of 12/1 (500-6000 rpm) constant power (150 kW) speed range (CPSR) based on using mechanical flux weakening (MFW) by rotating magnets on the rotor, capable to reduce PM airgap flux to zero o...

Summary: | The present paper presents the preliminary design with key FEM validation for a high performance IPMSM capable of 12/1 (500-6000 rpm) constant power (150 kW) speed range (CPSR) based on using mechanical flux weakening (MFW) by rotating magnets on the rotor, capable to reduce PM airgap flux to zero or even changing its polarity when needed. The efficiency is basically constant (over 94%) over the entire speed range for 150KW. |
