Summary:Electrospraying has found multiple applications in various fields of engineering, science and everyday life. This paper presents study of behavior of electrosprayed dielectric liquids in high pressure environments. Experiments were carried out to evaluate use of electric fields in spatial and temporal manipulation of sprayed droplets. The focus of the study was to investigate feasibility of such control in cylindrical geometries, where the target application is use of this technique to improve fuel economy and reduce harmful exhaust emissions of internal combustion (IC) engines.
