Summary:A rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with monofilar-spiral-slot is presented for wideband circular polarization(CP). A microstrip line composed of a strip and a half ring, as a broadband feeding structure, are used to feed the antenna. A prototype of the proposed antenna is designed, fabricated, and measured. The proposed DRA has a high radiation efficiency and a wide 3-dB AR beamwidth. Measured results show that it also obtains a global bandwidth of 30.7%(1.79-2.44 GHz) for |S 11 | <; -10dB, AR <; 3dB.
