Summary:The dynamic compensation in rural distribution network can not only reduce the active power loss of certain lines and improve power factor, but also ameliorate each nodal voltage level. However, the switching control of dynamic compensation capacitor always depends on the parameters of installation node, namely, local control. There is no uniform scheduling, lacking a full consideration to reactive power of the entire line in rural network. An intelligent control algorithm are put forward on the condition that reactive power compensation location and capacity have been identified in rural distribution lines, which can control the capacitor switching according to the load changing and the system operation status and keep real-time voltage qualified and network loss minimum. Mathematical model of capacitors real-time switching optimization is a nonlinear mixed integer programming problem; on-line real-time control requires fast calculating speed. This paper establishes an optimal capacitor switching model aimed at a minimum network loss and improves TS algorithm to find the optimal solution to meet the requirement of computing speed according to reactive power compensation's influence on power flow and load characteristics. There must be intelligent devices to achieve the global reactive power optimal control with intelligent algorithm, which should have functions of collecting compensation node information, communicating with upper computer, and completing switch instruction. According to the exist automation conditions in rural distribution network, use technology of network and the GPRS to achieve data exchange between computer in scheduling room and each compensation devices in distribution lines. Then the computer in scheduling room will be able to dispatch on/off instruction to each compensation device according to intelligent control algorithm and information of compensation node and substation exit, achieve distribution lines reactive power compensation total optimization intelligent control, and make it a part of smart rural power grids.
