Experimental determination of turbine flow rate using velocity-area method. Study case: micro-hydro units equipped with EOS type turbines

Summary:The paper aims at developing a simpler but more precise methodology for in situ determination of turbine discharge at small hydro power plants using the velocity-area method known as the current meter method. Simplifying the methodology for determining the turbine discharge rate in hydro-units in small hydro power plants will reduce the time required to perform in situ determinations but also reduce the costs required to carry out the in situ determination of the turbine discharge, the main parameter in determining the efficiency hydro-units which equips micro-hydro power plants MHPP and small hydro power plants SHPP.
