Summary:This paper presents results of iron loss evaluation of an induction motor model core by using the finite element method considering two-dimensional vector magnetic properties. In order to reduce rotational iron losses, which generate in the stator core, we tried to make holes at the tooth base parts. As a result, the rotational flux distribution was effectively controlled by making holes. In this paper, obtained knowledge about iron loss control with holes in the stator core is presented and discussed.
