Chromatographic chiral separation on chiral stationary phase by HPLC: Cellulose 4-methylbenzoate beads as chiral stationary phase for chiral separation of some racemates by high performance liquid chromatography
The spherical beads were first systhesized by cellulose 4-methylbenzoate with partial hydroxyl groups, which was then crosslinked in the beads with 4, 4'-diphenylmethane dissocyanate. The obtained crosslinked beads were packed into an HPLC column and used as chiral stationary phase (CSP) for ch...

Summary: | The spherical beads were first systhesized by cellulose 4-methylbenzoate with partial hydroxyl groups, which was then crosslinked in the beads with 4, 4'-diphenylmethane dissocyanate. The obtained crosslinked beads were packed into an HPLC column and used as chiral stationary phase (CSP) for chiral separation of some racemates by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) using mobile phases contained with 1-hexane and different alcohols. The influence of the concentration and structure of alcoholic modifiers on separation were investigated. Among the tested racemates, four racemates were first separated on this CSP. The loading capacity of cellulose 4-methylbenzoate beads for racemic Trögger base was investigated. |
