Summary:Fatigue tests has been completed. A lot of bushing failed. In order to improve the effective lifetime of rubber bushing used in chassis, research the failure mechanism of rubber bushing, a finite element model of rubber bushing was build, and then simulated with FEM. The results showed that on the rubber bushing stress nephogram, the position of the maximum stress is just the place where the rubber bushing fatigue crack beginning. Despite the cause of crack of the rubber bushing is recognized as fatigue, the position of maximum stress where the rubber bushing fatigue crack beginning can still be studied with FEM. So the CAD model can be modified and the effective lifetime of rubber bushing can be improved.
