Summary:This paper introduced a lightweight J2EE framework based on the analysis of Struts and Hibernate and implemented a Web application. Under this framework, the Business Layer was accomplished by Struts, and Hibernate completed a mapping between objects and relationships to achieve the interaction between Business Layer and Data. Based on this study, to meet the requirements of medical and healthcare service in community, a Community Medical and Healthcare Resource Information Management System is designed and developed. This system makes full use of the advantages of Struts and Hibernate such as legible structure, extensibility, reusability and maintainability. Furthermore, the system has the characteristics of (1) providing various query methods to meet different requirements; (2) offering statistical analysis of medical and healthcare resources for management decision making; (3) customizing system title to enhance the system reusability; (4) implementing local resource module customization for differentiation and localization management.
