Summary:Advanced Data Reception and Analysis System (ADDRESS) is a software solution used for monitoring data from autonomous buoy systems deployed in Indian Seas by National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Chennai. Three variants of buoys (Met-Ocean buoys, Deep Sea Instrumented buoys and Tsunami buoys) are being handled by NIOT. ADDRESS acquires data from these buoys which are fitted with meteorological and oceanographic sensors. Acquired data is then archived and made available to a multidisciplinary community of scientists, government and other agencies through Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), Hyderabad. Although ADDRESS solves practical difficulties exists in data reception, inspection & analysis and in maintaining inventory of consumables used in buoys, it lacks support for application mobility, which is essential for operating it in pervasive environment. ADDRESS is restricted to a specific hardware features such as screen width. This paper present an application system, a mobility based enhanced ADDRESS, which allows scientists community at NIOT to visualize and analyze data pertain to OOS using their diverse of personal mobile devices, thus allowing for application mobility.
