Summary:Various characteristics of time transfer over the Fourth Generation (4G), or Long Term Evolution (LTE), mobile telecommunication networks are investigated. The investigation aims at properties of the time transfer over the LTE networks using commercially available equipment. Two operating modes of the network have been detected, and the operating features, characteristic of the two modes, are reported. Potentially attainable accuracy of the time transfer over the LTE networks is discussed.
