Summary:This paper presents results of the use of the N4SID method, belonging to the subspaces identification techniques, in its deterministic case, applied to a prototype of a crusher, where this unit operation is part of the mineral processing chain. A mathematical model in discrete-time linear state space system is obtained, where the result indicates that the estimation of the model is satisfactory for use in model-based design control systems, aiming to improve performance and efficiency in plants that involves the use of this unit operation.
