Summary:Generally, it is important for commercial products to design their shapes considering not only functionality but also usability. We have been discussing methodologies to analyze 3D polygon data of gripping object. Thanks to our previous works, we obtained much know-hows to design easy-to-grasp objects. In this paper, the authors applied the knowledge to design a smartphone case. The prototype case based on the knowledge is manufactured and its usability was evaluated with electromyogram.
