Summary:A novel control strategy is proposed to improve the efficiency and to realize safe soft commutation of the high-frequency inverter which is composed of full-bridge, high-frequency transformer and cycloconverter. Through the novel control strategy the full-bridge switches can achieve almost full-range zero-voltage switching on, and the cycloconverter switches can achieve full-range zero-current switching off. The novel control strategy can also help the cycloconverter to realize safe soft commutation. What's more, the novel strategy can keep the loss balance of the cycloconverter switches, which improves the reliability of the high-frequency link inverter. And a 1kW simulation model and prototype have been built to verify the effectiveness of the novel control strategy.
