Summary:Power communication network is crucial for the stability and the efficiency of power grid system. To optimize communication network, bandwidth requirement of power grid must be estimated accurately. However, accurate bandwidth estimation for power grid is still an unresolved problem, mainly because bandwidth requirement may vary drastically for different power grid sites. In this paper, we propose an analysis method of bandwidth and site based on Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). In this method, node strength, site type, basic bandwidth and redundancy coefficient are introduced as indicators of the impact of site on bandwidth. The relative weights of different indicators are expressed by a judgment matrix. After passing the consistent test, the influence of different sites on bandwidth is obtained. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the validity of the model.
