Summary:In impulse radio (IR) type Ultra-Wideband (UWB) communications, orthogonal waveforms confirm to given spectral mask are desired to improve system capacity. Therefore, in this paper, an orthogonal wavelet based pulse shaping algorithm is proposed and compactly supported Meyer wavelet is used as an example to show how to obtain orthogonal pulses. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can obtain orthogonal pulses with high power efficiency and the pulse generator can be implemented simply as well.
