Summary:Meter-wave radar is widely used due to its potential advantage in anti-stealth and anti-radiation missile. However, the capability of meter-wave radar to measure height is limited by its wide beam and the multipath caused by ground reflection, especially the variable terrain and rough ground. In this study, a novel height measurement method based on adaptive beamforming is proposed. The direct and reflection echoes are considered as interferences and can be cancelled by an adaptive beam with two nulls in the direct angle and its specular angle. The authors utilize null broadening technique, enhancing the robustness of the adaptability of the method to the complex reflection surface. Real data processing results verify the effectiveness of the method and the great improvement precision in height measurement compared to traditional super-resolution methods.
