Summary:The electric motor's dynamics is a problem analyzed for many years. Many researchers solved this problem, for example by the design optimization or by use of electronic systems and determination of special control conditions. In the case of low-power motors, cost of production is the most important component of the final product price. The authors of this paper attempt to improve the dynamic of 120 W line-start synchronous reluctance motor, energized by 50 Hz mains. In a limited range they modify the rotor shape and change its material, so as to minimize the cost of tools' replacement, used for motor manufacturing.
