Summary:The power industry is trying to move rapidly to develop open systems that can enable smart grid service for consumer such as demand response, energy efficiency, and other functions that can assist in a future dynamic consumer interaction with the power delivery system. In this paper, the two-way consumer energy information exchange platform for consumer involvement and its implementation using XML message are described. It will enable utilities to provide their consumer with a variety of services by communicating with various appliances in consumer's premises.
