Terabit-per-second time division multiplexer

Terabit-per-second transmission experiments using the optical time-division multiplexing (OTDM) and wavelength-division multiplexing have been successfully demonstrated. In these large capacity systems, the ultra high-speed time-division and demultiplexer are important. In this paper, we propose and...

Summary:Terabit-per-second transmission experiments using the optical time-division multiplexing (OTDM) and wavelength-division multiplexing have been successfully demonstrated. In these large capacity systems, the ultra high-speed time-division and demultiplexer are important. In this paper, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a terabit-per-second time division multiplexer (TDM) with a simple encoding scheme using the spatial slicing technique.
