Summary:The possibility of producing thermal energy for heating at the most advantageous price for the beneficiary of the heat, i.e. the tenant, is currently an issue not only of national interest, but also of global interest. In this paper, theoretical aspects of the type of heating installations that can be implemented in buildings and information on the algorithms for calculating heat requirements for heating and hot water preparation, currently approved in the regulations in force, are presented. The case study carried out in the paper presents the case of a condominium building (block of flats Gf+4 floors) connected to the centralised heat supply system in Craiova. For this building, the possibility of reducing the financial impact of heating the condominium dwellings was evaluated from a financial point of view, in the case of alternative heating sources.
