Research on the application of airbag loading technology in the strength test of amphibious aircraft

This paper verifies the feasibility of the airbag loading technique to apply hydrodynamic loads on the bottom of large amphibious aircraft. Firstly, CCAR-23 §23.533 is used to calculate the bottom pressure of the ship’s bottom test piece when it is in the water, and then finite element analysis and...

Summary:This paper verifies the feasibility of the airbag loading technique to apply hydrodynamic loads on the bottom of large amphibious aircraft. Firstly, CCAR-23 §23.533 is used to calculate the bottom pressure of the ship’s bottom test piece when it is in the water, and then finite element analysis and test verification are used to calculate and measure the stress distribution of the test piece respectively. The analysis results show that the airbag loading technique can meet the requirement of applying hydrodynamic loads for large amphibious aircraft.
