Summary: | The paper presents an optimised approach to image encoding related to real-time imaging applications. A proposal is made how adaptive allocation and compression techniques can be applied to provide an optimal level of service quality. The criteria of optimality is to be set by a currently available network connection, while providing a user with desired level of imaging services. The problem, described in the paper, is how to provide optimal image compression and transmission parameters, which employ currently available bandwidth and maintain perceptual degradation at a minimum level. |
